Project Manager, Strategic InitiativesPublic Works – Office of the CommissionerContract Full-Time, Duration: 24 MonthsReporting to the Advisor, Strategic Planning and Administration, you will be providing expert advice to people leaders, program and project sponsors and senior management regarding the best approach to implement improvements resulting from workplace culture reviews and overarching change strategy to plan appropriate change management tactics.You will gather and assemble information from the program areas having change implications in order to identify, plan and implement actions to achieve objectives. You will coordinate with appropriate staff to ensure alignment of change management tactics with project plan, change management strategy and program/business area requirements/considerations.Responsibilities:Design the overall project strategy, create, execute and control project plans, manage project change and administer project budgetDevelop and execute change management tactics to significantly impact the success of sectional, divisional and departmental priorities, including raising awareness regarding the scale of change, the benefits of the change, and the impacts of changeAnalyze, and respond to the impacts of change initiatives on the programs/projects that are a high priority to the division. Arising from this analysis, the Project Manager will provide recommendations, solutions and/or approaches to ensure successful implementation and acceptance of change eventsLead project team(s) comprised of people leaders and internal staff in building and implementing project plans, change management plans and resolving strategic issues. Motivate project team to work as a cohesive unit and ensure the completeness of the project’s productsDevelop tactics for communicating information and facilitating discussions and be accountable for the same. Must be able to explain the decisions/recommendations and explain the courses of action required to resolve an issueEnsure all phases of project implementation are performed within standards, timeframes and budget requirementsProvide regular reporting to the Managers Project Sponsors and Divisional/Departmental Management teamsDevelop and deliver reports and presentations to division or department teams and senior managementClose the project and conduct post-implementation reviewKeep abreast of best practices in project management, change management, and process improvementDesign and develop data collection and program evaluation tools to support department-wide prioritiesSupport the review and analysis of department-wide prioritiesSupport strategies to integrate enterprise-wide initiatives into the departmentSupport special projects as requiredQualificationsUniversity degree in education, communications, human resources or related field, plus expert knowledge and further specialization in the change management.5+ years’ experience in project management with a strong knoweldge of project management processesExperienced in applying change management principles and methodologiesAnalytical thinker, with timely problem-solving skills and polished communicationStrong customer service abilities, while being adaptable to changing prioritiesProficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft TeamsProject Management Professional (PMP) Certification by PMI is an assetEffective time management skills and ability to develop project budgetsIf this opportunity matches your qualifications and experience, please apply on-line.Location: Due to Covid-19, some of our offices are working at limited capacity to protect the health and safety of our employees, clients and community.
