Job Description

Maple Lodge Farms, Canada’s largest and most trusted chicken provider is looking for a Quality Assurance Technician – Lab Services.Interested in joining Canada’s largest poultry processor At Maple Lodge Farms, we’re not only passionate about our chickens, but our people, too.   • Responsible for analyzing and providing results on samples to various management while ensuring adherence to lab standards and practices to maximize food safety and operational effectiveness.
  • Analyze and test against various micro, chemical, and physical methods and then make judgements concerning the results. Take appropriate action to maintain accuracy/precision, and answer inquiries regarding test results, methodology, test specificity/sensitivity, and specific factors that influence test results.
  • Maintain all required records, reports, statistics, logs, files, and other lab documents as required. Use computer programs in lab systems to ensure accurate data entry and retrieval.
Your education & experience matters to us:
  • Minimum two to five years of experience required in a similar role;
  • Undergraduate degree in Microbiology, or a related field required.
  • Working knowledge of food and meat plant regulatory standards (CFIA, etc.), GMP, HACCP, BRC, food safety, food quality, etc.;
  • Working knowledge of knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), WHMIS, and all other workplace H&S regulations;
  • Team-player with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders
  • Analytical, with problem-identification and problem-solving capabilities;
  • Ability to work / excel in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and effective multi-tasking is essential;
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office)

  • This position is Lab-based working with a great team!
Shift:
  • Flexible weekends (anytime between 8am – 5pm) Saturdays and Sundays
