Representative Curbside, Excess Recycling ContaminationPublic Works - Waste ManagementContract Full Time - Twenty-four (24) monthsWorking with the Waste Collection and Waste Planning teams, the Curbside Advisor will be responsible for investigating the option of providing residents with larger or extra recycling carts for additional recycling storage capacity, reducing curbside contamination and assisting residents in person by addressing correct curbside set-out times, days, types of containers and acceptable materials.Major Responsibilities:Undertake in-field set out studies to gather data on the percentage of households regularly setting out additional recyclingExamine the material in the recycling carts and overflow recycling bagsEducate residents on proper set out practicesInvestigate if there is a need to provide residents with larger or extra recycling carts for additional recycling storage capacityPresent residents with the Region's sorting and curbside set-out procedures,Educate and engage residents about waste management issues and help promote the Region's various waste minimization programsPerform task(s) that support the coordination of division or section(s) activities with respect to addressing excess recycling set out and/or recycling contamination.Input and maintain data as directedAssist in conducting field researchComplete standard correspondence, letters and other documents within well-defined policies and proceduresRespond to routine requests for information from internal and external stakeholdersComplete outlined daily tasks and work plans independentlyMaintain internal and external working relationships with service clients and business partnersAddress program related internal and external inquiriesPerforms daily tasks and other duties as assigned in a safe and healthy manner in compliance with the Region’s Work Health and Safety policiesOther duties as assignedQualifications:College diploma or university degree, or minimum three years’ experience in a waste management settingBackground in environmental education and customer service with knowledge of general waste management operations and terminologies, an assetExcellent communication skills (verbal and written)Excellent customer service, organization and time management skills.Willing to engage confidently as subject matter expert with members of the publicAble to work without direct supervisionPossess a valid G driver's licenseKnowledge and experience with using Salesforce or other customer relationship management softwareProficient in Microsoft Office applications with emphasis Excel and WordIf this opportunity matches your qualifications and experience, please apply on-line.Location: Peel Integrated Waste Management Facility, 7795 Torbram Road, Brampton.
