Job DescriptionWilliam Osler Health System is driven by a strategic vision to go beyond for our people and communities. As part of this commitment, we are embarking on an exciting digital transformation to implement a new, modernized Hospital Information System (HIS). Our dedicated HIS Team will collaborate closely with our trusted HIS Vendor (Epic) and internal subject matter experts to develop a fully functional system that will empower us to deliver exceptional care and services.The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for the design, configuration, build, testing and support of the hardware and infrastructure required to support the health information system (HIS). This role is part of the HIS project structure with a key responsibility to design, deliver and sustain our systems to address both clinical and non-clinical needs, ensuring the HIS is utilized effectively and efficiently in patient care.Accountabilities:

  • Manage and administer physical and virtual server infrastructure
  • Maintain and monitor existing on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure, diagnosing problems using system monitoring software and hardware
  • Design, build and maintain automation tools and scripts to optimize system management and simplify deployment workflows
  • Repair and recover from hardware or software failures, coordinating and communicating with impacted constituencies
  • Responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of any assigned systems
  • Research new and current technologies to improve stability and functionality of existing systems
  • Manage assigned tasks and projects with the flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed to support team and business objectives
  • Administer multiple data center facilities where systems may operate
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support
  • Work extended hours (days, evenings, nights, weekends) as required
