This will be a newly created hybrid service design and activation role to better support our business growth. Reporting to the Sr Manager, Technical Solutions, you will be accountable for circuit design, provisioning and support of standard Enterprise, Small Business, and Wholesale customer networks using On-net and 3rd party accesses. You will be required to install and activate 3rd party services from our partners, configure network elements and issue internal work through our various portals and mediated access systems, all in accordance with our technical standards, to ensure quality and timely delivery of the requested solutions. Responsive to the needs of our customers, you will take full ownership of your orders, work with internal stakeholders and external vendors, and act proactively as required, to ensure our quality measures and aggressive implementation timelines are met by continually striving to meet and exceed our SLAs.What you will do:

  • Work cross functionally to ensure customer orders are provisioned and activated on their due date
  • Design, configure and provision standard Internet (RDI, ONT, EoC, FWA) and Carrier Ethernet network services
  • Test Ethernet, Fiber, TDM, DSL, and Cable access with Rogers technicians and Telco/MSO providers
  • Attention to detail required to ensure records and database integrity are maintained
  • Design and provision access links and/or lease Access from ILECs/CLECs for off-footprint end-points
  • Align with Sales & Network Architects and Delivery Partners on final Solution Design for standard RES, RDI and SIP services via Salesforce Lighting and INSIS.
  • Creating Circuit Design using relevant tools/systems for new and MACD orders based on On-net footprint, 3rd party access, network disconnects and augmentations.
  • Support 7210 and ONT attachments
  • Support Fixed Wire Access deployment
  • Support MACD for all Rogers for Business services
  • Support Customer close-out and transition to Operational Support activities
  • Provision Standard DDoS
  • Some afterhours will be required
What you will bring:
  • Strong technical in IP, IP VPN and VoIP/SIP, communication (written, verbal) and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, be responsive, and deliver on tight deadlines
  • Experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting a wide variety of medium and enterprise grade Cisco, Alcatel, or Juniper devices
  • Experience in deploying or supporting WAN technologies (Ethernet, TDM, Wireless, etc.)
  • Experience managing customers directly
  • Working knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and traffic-engineering principles
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP (IPv4 & IPv6) and MPLS protocols
  • Flexibility to work evenings and week-ends when required to support customer activations
  • Experience with OTDR, RFC2544, and Y.1564 testing an asset
Education Requirements
  • Post-Secondary education or 2+ years of equivalent work experience required
  • Active Technical Certification an asset
  • Cisco certifications in CCNA or higher preferred OR Alcatel certifications in NRS1 or higher preferred
