Reporting to the shift supervisor, the leadhand will have overall accountability for all shipping and receiving activities on afternoon shift. The successful candidate will have experience working in a fast paced, food manufacturing environment and have a demonstrated ability to work safely, ensuring safe plant operations and a safe working environment for all employees.RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees and directs the daily work of shift
  • Performs shipping tasks including picking and assembling cases, scanning orders, loading and unloading trucks, temperature checks and organizing product
  • Able to run the shift with minimal supervision
  • Orders assembly
  • Responsible for daily safety, onsite inspection
  • Coordinate receiving, order picking and truck/trailer movements
  • Responsible for executing SAP transactions (EWM and ECC) around product availability, STO’s entry and completion of all other tasks associated with shipping activities
  • Provide required operational information to supervisor
  • Train any new hires
  • Ensure CHEP availability in the warehouse
  • Monitor fuel levels and reefers operation for all trailers on site
  • Perform tasks as assigned by supervisor
  • Work in compliance with all Health and Safety, Food Safety and HACCP requirements
  • Other duties as required
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to communicate with other employees, supervisors, leadhands, external customers, drivers
  • Punctual, reliable and responsible. Can work well in a team environment and support fellow team members
  • Ability to follow and execute directions while maintaining composure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Speak and read English fluently
  • Punctuality and responsibility is essential.
  • Must be competent with safe operation of pallet trucks. (Will train to certify)
  • Strong computer skills (word, excel, outlook)
  • Familiarity with SAP (RF Scanners) preferred. Achieving full competence is essential.
  • Familiarity with product codes preferred. Achieving full competence is essential.
  • Ability to perform continuous, repetitive lifting of full cartons of product (up to approx. 75 lbs

  • Plant environment (ambient and refrigerated); 24-7, 2 shift operation
