Reports to the Clinical Services Manager of Emergency, with professional accountability to the Practice Leader for Social Work. The social worker will be an integral part of the Social Work professional team, participating in yearly strategic planning initiatives and corporate professional development.QUALIFICATIONS:Masters of Social WorkRegistration with the O.C.S.W.S.S.W.Minimum of 3- 5 years social work experience in EmergencyPrevious work history of dealing with one or more of the following client types/issues; elderly, homeless, domestic violence, pediatric, substance abuse and bereavement.Knowledgeable in community resourcesKnowledge and experience working with relevant legislation (i.e. SDM Act, POA, Consent and Capacity, etc)Knowledge of the psychosocial impact of chronic illness on the person and the familyExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work as part of a multi-disciplinary teamMay be required to travel between and work at all hospital campusesExcellent organization skills and ability to set priorities as requiredGood critical thinking and problem-solving skills requiredDemonstrated excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.Must be able to work independently and interdependently within multidisciplinary treatment teamComputer proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and MeditechExcellent attendance, punctuality and work record“Osler values inclusivity and diversity in the workplace.
