Position type: Contract (Full-Time / Part-Time)Dates: Throughout the Academic Year 2022-2023 (Contract) Location(s): Board-Wide - Multiple LocationsSalary Range: $63,787.00 - $105,371.00 (annually)Position SummaryThis position reports to the General Manager, Clinical Services and Special Education.Under the direction of the General Manager Clinical Services and Special Education through the Chief of Service, the Speech-Language Pathologist will provide assessment, consultative and direct programming for students with speech and language disorders.Qualifications

  • Registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO)
  • Evidence from previous work history of satisfactory attendance and punctuality
  • Previous experience is desired

We will accommodate your needs under the Ontario Human Rights Code.Job Description BelowThe Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School BoardPOSITION DESCRIPTIONPosition Title: Speech-Language PathologistDepartment: Special Education and Support ServicesTitle of Immediate Supervisor: Chief of Speech-Language, Hearing and Vision ServicesSummary of Objectives:Under the direction of the Superintendent of Special Education and Learning Services and through the Chief of Speech-Language, Hearing and Vision Services, the Speech and Language Pathologist will provide assessment, consultative and direct programming for students with speech and language disorders.Major Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Administer tests and observe students to evaluate speech, language and voice disorders
  • Plan and coordinate implementation of programs to improve speech, language and voice
  • Provide direct intervention services, including individual or group programs
  • Provide consultative services to school staff, parents and caregivers
  • Participate in school conferences and meetings
  • Assist in the development and follow through of IPRC recommendations
  • Consult with physicians, audiologists, psychologists and other health care personnel to help plan treatment programs
  • Coordinate referrals to outside agencies and act as a liaison between these agencies and school personnel
  • Prepare reports and correspondence
  • Maintain professional and statistical records
  • Conduct research on speech and other communication disorders and on the development and design of diagnostic procedures
  • Develop and conduct in-service, workshops and presentations as required
  • Participate in committees related to Board initiatives / projects
  • Other duties, as assigned
