  • Must have a valid class 5 driver #39;s licence or similar from another jurisdiction
Qualifications:Essential:
  • Civil Technologist Diploma or Civil Technician Certificate or completion of Department Level 2 survey training course. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Experience with roadway construction inspection and/or preliminary/roadway construction survey
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and courteously with internal and external contacts and stakeholders
  • Experience with computer aided design and drafting software
  • Ability to work with a high level of accuracy, thoroughness and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently including organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook or an equivilent program(s) may be considered
Duties:The Drafting and Permit Technician reports to the Regional Design Engineer/Senior Regional Design Technologist/Regional Planning Technologist and performs responsible technical and engineering related work responding to public inquires and requests resulting in the preparation of permit applications and site plans.The Drafting and Permit Technician also works in a specialized technical environment and performs various drafting duties, produces engineering drawings for the design and construction of highway projects, while adhering to department standards, policies and procedures.Apply to:Advertisement # 41850Talent AcquisitionHuman Resource Services
