The goal is a strong relationship, built on trust, choice, exceptional customer care and the facts, so you can make informed decisions.Role DescriptionThe EHSamp; Maintain Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and maintaining all activities related to the corporate environmental, healthamp; safety programs at Germiphene and Corporately. This includes maintaining databases to track EH amp;S incidents, corrective and preventive actions, training, contractors, chemical usage and environmental emissions.They will also be coordinating the maintenance activities to ensure all site equipment is available for operational needs, providing administrative support and managing the chemical waste disposal program.QualificationsDuties and responsibilities

  • Monitors and reports on environmental, health and safety matters (eg. JHSC Inspections and preventive actions, injuries, spills, KPI #39;s and objectives). Administer OSHA reporting, posting, and updating logs as required.
  • Participates in investigating accidents and incidents to identify causes, determine how they might be prevented in the future and trends of environmental, health and safety issues (eg. injuries, spills, etc.).
  • Formulates policies and procedures in compliance with local, provincial, state Environmental, Health and Safety laws and regulations (best practices).
  • Consults with all departments on design and use of equipment, fire prevention, emergency action plans and environmental health and safety programs.
  • Participates in environmental, health and safety risk assessments.
  • Administers and tracks incident reports and corrective action processes.
  • Inspects facility to identify and communicate existing or potential environmental, health and safety hazards, and recommends corrective or preventative measures where indicated to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Provide support to the WSIB program, including coordinating the return to work program and working with the health care provider to minimize lost time accidents.
  • Develop and conductamp;/or coordinate training programs or communications that increase environmental, health and safety awareness and compliance.
  • Ensure work orders are created, for work performed. Set up and maintain PM program and documentation aligning with the CALMAN program.
  • Oversee scheduled, planned preventative maintenance to minimize unplanned downtime. Assist with determining Preventative Maintenance frequency by using OEM specifications/manuals, analysis reports, knowledge, and education/training.
  • Act as Facility champion for Control of Hazardous Energy (Lock Out, Tag Out), as well as other safety related topics and GMP facility requirements.
  • Identify productivity improvements, opportunities and provide feedback to the Management team on continuous improvement activities.
  • Clerical/Maintain maintenance records
  • On-call for building security/alarms
  • Order/purchase equipment/parts to keep production, water system and building at optimum
  • Set /manage goalsamp; objectives.
  • Plan / execute improvement projects. Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and manage improvements.
  • Waste materials management; coordinating the safe handling and disposal of material in the designated storage area. Ensure material is secure until removed from the site.
  • Supports the collection of environmental compliance and sustainability data and maintains records
  • Coordinates respirator fit testing with external parties and maintains records
  • Reviews and approvals contractor documents
  • Maintains first aid safety, and spill cart supplies and procurement of supplies
  • Performs other related duties and or special projects as assigned
  • Comply with ISO 9001 specifications and GMP regulations, and ensures quality standards are met.
  • Will follow the responsibilities as outlined in the Ontario Health and Safety Act and company policies.

QualificationsEducation: Post-secondary education in a related discipline (I.E. Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science) Millwright, Maintenance or equivalentSkills/Abilities/Characteristics:
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong computer skills, especially with Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
  • Self-starter takes initiation.
  • Works well independently
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and organization skills.
  • Time management skills
Experience:
  • 3 years Maintenance Supervisor experience, Environmental, Healthamp; Safe experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Planningamp; Scheduling experience
  • Presentationamp; Training experience preferred
  • Pharmaceutical, food or cosmetic industry experience is considered an asset
Working conditions
  • Working in the manufacturing, warehouse and office environment.
Physical requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push and/or pull items up to a maximum of 50 pounds occasionally
  • Incumbent may be required to be on a computer for extended periods of time.
