Job Description

Senior Legal Counsel – Calgary, ABLocation: Calgary, ABEmployment Type: Full-Time, PermanentAbout the RoleOur client is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to support their continued growth and legal strategy in aviation and related sectors. This senior legal professional will report directly to the CFO and work closely with cross-functional teams, providing guidance on a wide range of legal and regulatory matters. If you excel at managing commercial agreements, risk mitigation, and supporting strategic leadership, this role offers a challenging and rewarding environment.What’s in it for You

Key Responsibilities
  • Guide stakeholders on legal aspects of business operations, including strategic support for business development and contract management.
  • Develop and implement processes for legal compliance, risk assessment, and contract standardization.
  • Represent and protect client interests in legal proceedings, arbitration, and negotiations.
  • Provide comprehensive legal advice on regulatory issues, oversee contract relationships, and maintain high standards of confidentiality and integrity.
Requirements
  • Education: LLB required (membership with Law Society of Alberta); MBA preferred.
  • Experience: 10+ years in Corporate/Contract Law, with a focus on Leasing and Financing; 3+ years in the Aviation sector.
  • Skills: Strong negotiation, strategic thinking, and communication skills, with proficiency in MS Office and client relationship management.
