Job Description

  • Must have a minimum of two to three years of payroll administration or equivalent experience.
  • Must be able to assist and support with all payroll administrative tasks and general office duties.
  • Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Must be willing to work overtime when needed.
  • Hourly rate is dependent on experience.
  • Health benefits, and vacation pay offered.
  • Assist in processing timesheets and producing pay cheques for a large number of employees on a weekly basis, including monthly union reports and remit payments for union benefits.
  • Process wage increases per union schedules.
  • Complete the new hire setup process within our company software.
  • Input labour hours and balance time according to field logs.
  • Process payroll weekly for union workers.
  • Process terminations and issues ROE #39;s when required.
  • Complete union remittances on a monthly basis.
  • Support other accounting functions with regards to payroll and employee cost allocation, which may include general office duties as required.
Experience and Certification Requirements:
  • A minimum of two to three years of payroll administration or equivalent experience in a unionized environment required.
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret multiple collective agreements and determine related payroll requirements, with working knowledge of payroll databases.
  • A diploma or post-secondary in administration would be considered an asset.
  • Have the ability to make quick decisions in a demanding environment, where your performance could have an impact on other employees.
  • A reliable means of transportation is required.
  • Proficient English language skills required.
