Visit us today and check out www.novascotia.com to see why more people from across the globe are moving here.About the OpportunityReporting to the Health Services Manager, the Booking and Registration Clerk is responsible for the following: registration of clinic patients; scheduling and communication of patient appointments; procurement of health records for the patient visit; coordination and booking and communication of diagnostic tests; assisting in the general organization, patient flow and efficiency of the Oncology Clinic and maintaining accurate statistics as required.About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Grade XII plus one year related clerical experience or completion of a recognized one year secretarial/business program
  • Knowledge of medical terminology an asset
  • Computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite (Work, Excel, Outlook), Meditech (Admissions, Registration, EMR, Order Entry), SAP and the Electronic Forms Repository
  • Knowledge of STAR, PHS, Once Content, OPIS, Millennium considered an asset
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to prioritize activities and to work cooperatively as part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm during an emergency and deal with numerous interruptions and continuous change an asset
  • Commitment to promoting a culture of respect that supports ethical practice, cultural awareness and sensitivity and organizational health
  • Accurate keyboarding skills
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
  • Demonstrates problem solving and decision making skills
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
