Job Description

Bridgewater , Nova ScotiaGE Environmental, a division of the Municipal Group of Companies, is an environmental services company that has been servicing the South Shore since 1984. Specializing in the collection and transport of garbage and recycling and offering a wide range of equipment and containers. We are currently seeking a Maintenance Labourer based out of our Bridgewater, NS location.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • General yard maintenance including mowing, snow removal, organizing carts and containers
  • Maintain yard in order and clean
  • Assist with tasks within the maintenance shop
  • Painting containers in the shop and on the road, container repairs
  • Compost cart repairs
  • Perform necessary maintenance and repairs as required
  • Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labour
  • Be aware of surroundings at all times
  • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task
  • Protect and promote the interest of this company in all matters and to take actions as required to satisfy such responsibilities
  • Ensure safety of fellow employees
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience:
  • Minimum Class 5 driver’s license is required
  • Ability to perform a variety of manual tasks requiring the use of independent judgment and action
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to follow a firm work schedule as directed by supervisor
  • Willingness to work in a team environment
  • Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
  • Comply with all safety policies and procedures
  • Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that projects are completed properly
  • Working safely is a condition of employment
