Job Description

Bridgewater , Nova ScotiaGE Environmental, a division of the Municipal Group of Companies, is an environmental services company that has been servicing the South Shore since 1984. Specializing in the collection and transport of garbage and recycling and offering a wide range of equipment and containers. We are currently seeking a Roll-Off Driver based out of our Bridgewater, NS location.Job Summary:The Roll-Off Driver is responsible for the hauling of customer waste from industrial, commercial, and institutional sites. The driver is responsible for performing assigned duties on container delivery and hauling of industrial roll-off routes.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Satisfy customer needs for service. Ensure that service is completed in accordance with established policies
  • Responsible for daily pre and post trip inspections
  • Complete daily route as assigned by the Operations Manager
  • Daily route consists of driving to customer sites, secure bin on truck, empty bin at transfer station, return bin to customer site
  • Perform driver check-ins at day’s end to ensure complete and accurate paperwork completion
  • Ensure assigned routes are completed in a timely and safe manner
  • Ensure that all protocols are followed while dumping loads at municipal recycling/waste facilities
  • Required to climb up ladder on truck to tarp loads
  • Required to be able to lift the Roll-Off hook and attach it to the bin, requires bending and ability to lift 25-50 pounds
  • Perform other duties as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience:
  • 1-2 years driving experience in a transportation sector
  • Must possess minimum Class 3 Drivers license with air brake endorsement
  • Experience driving manual transmission
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer focus
  • Proven ability to multi-task & ability to prioritize tasks
  • Knowledge of industry considered an asset
  • Willingness to pick up shifts and work additional hours as required
  • Clean drivers abstract
