Job Description

About Family TraditionOur unofficial motto is, “if it burns gas we’ll kick it’s a$$”. It’s the best way to describe the many years of diverse experience that our team has. We’re a family owned and operated business that comes from a long history of gasfitters in Nova Scotia. We install, maintain, and service a wide range of gas systems and appliances for both residential and commercial clients. We’re the 2022 HPAC Magazine National Residential Sweet Heat Winners for one of our high efficiency boiler installations. We take pride in our work and believe in continuing education to be at the forefront of the emerging technologies of the industry.Family Tradition Propane Services is based in Oakhill (Bridgewater), Nova Scotia. We primarily serve the South Shore, Yarmouth and Digby County, and HRM. The nature of our work brings us to remote locations so please expect travel within the province and the occasional overnight job. We understand the importance of work/life balance and offset this for full time licensed technicians with a flexible 4 day work week (if desired). What We’re Looking ForWe’re looking to add a hardworking and talented tradesperson that takes pride in their work to our team. If you’re a gas fitter I/II or A/B we’d love to hear from you. If you’re a plumber or electrician that is open cross training in gasfitting and has experience with heating systems or generators please consider applying.About the RoleAs a technician with Family Tradition, no two days will ever look the same...and we mean it! We’re a small company and we do everything from installations to service and maintenance. We take on a lot of unique projects that many won’t. We service a large area in Nova Scotia and as a part of our team, you’ll be expected to plan, prepare, travel (sometimes stay overnight) and complete service calls and installations for both residential and commercial customers.Your day generally looks like joining our morning huddle with the entire team to review the daily objectives and hopping in your company provided service vehicle and completing the calls assigned to you through our mobile job management system (Jobber). On any given day you could be doing a heating system swap out, figuring out a problem boiler, doing a rough-in at a new build, running underground lines, and installing tanks of all sizes.Responsibilities:

  • Complete calls and job objectives assigned to you by dispatch & technical lead
  • Use our mobile app job management system to complete and upload all required job documentation (service orders, maintenance forms etc)

  • Solutions; we believe in being thorough and really digging into calls and finding solutions
  • A hunger to learn; we believe in innovation and new technologies within the industry.
