The Okanagan Indian Band is currently accepting applications for a Child & Youth Mental Health Counsellor position with our Education Department.The Child & Youth Mental Health Counsellor works as part of a multidisciplinary team, and will be responsible for assessment, treatment, and/or referral services to children, youth clients and their families attending the Cultural Immersion School and Early Childhood Education Centre. The position will collaborate with the OKIB Community Wellness team to provide comprehensive care to children, students, and their families.To provide services and supports that promotes the Okanagan Indian Band`s (OKIB) community wellness vision and plan. You are community-minded, detail-oriented, and an excellent communicator.Masters in Social Work, Educational Counselling, Clinical Psychology or Child and Youth Care or comparable graduate degree at the Master’s level, or equivalentMinimum of 2 years full-time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families in a school setting, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health servicesValid BC driver’s license, class 5 and reliable vehicleCurrent First Aid/CPR certificate or willing to obtainCrisis Intervention or Mental Health First AidPreference may be given to those having knowledge of the Okanagan culture and traditionsQuick Apply
