Job Description

What We’re Looking For:As our Draftsperson based at our Vines & Rebar location in Armstrong, B.C., your detail-oriented, organized, and creative skills will result in supporting shop design and being responsible for coordination of materials in relation to final millwork designs. You will also control activities of design manufacturing projects within specific time frames and budgets.What Youll Do:Drafting

  • Work with Project Coordinator to produce detailed shop drawings for approval
  • Submit shop drawings for approval.
  • Re-draw per any changes from designers/contractor/leadership
  • Provide options as suggested
  • Create and prepare shop drawings and modifications in line with architectural designs
Samples, Finishes, Prototypes
  • Material & supplier research
  • Submit finish samples for approval
  • Be part of meetings as required with Project Manager and Project Coordinator
Site Meetings
  • As required by Project Coordinator
  • Shop drawings for other trades (metal, stone, lighting, upholstery, etc.) when requested and required.
Pricing, Quotes, and Tenders
  • Assist Estimator with takeoffs for project pricing on specific materials & long lead time items
Material Takeoff & Purchasing (Assist Project Coordinator)
  • Creating and sending purchase orders for material/special fixings associated with the project
  • Detail and coordinate cut files for CNC machining when outsourced.
  • Create cutting lists, cut files, material to be machined etc.
What You Have:
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Experience in woodworking and AutoCAD requirement
  • Red Seal Joiner an asset
  • Knowledge of materials (wood, plastics, metal, glass) and how they are used throughout production
  • Knowledge of Microvellum is an asset
  • Experience drafting architectural millwork structures
  • Valid BC Drivers License
