The Learning & Curriculum Manager, Strategic Projects and Partnerships is responsible for developing innovative education programs and leading complex projects in the Strategic Projects and Partnerships portfolio in collaboration with provincial and national stakeholder organizations. The Learning & Curriculum Manager may be assigned to one or more projects depending on the needs of the Division.Key competencies of the role include relationship building and effective communications with stakeholders, planning and overseeing new program design to ensure it addresses learning needs of health care practitioners, developing funding proposals, reports, and contracts, developing and actioning work plans, leading committees and working groups, overseeing project operations including program finances and budgets, planning human resources and optimizing team performance, and leading research and evaluation related to activities within assigned projects.The Learning & Curriculum Manager is a key member of the UBC CPD Strategic Projects and Partnerships team. The incumbent contributes their creativity, project management, and relationship building skills as well as their educational expertise to growing the education and innovation capacity of the Division. The position provides functional and project oversight to designated UBC CPD staff and works collaboratively with UBC CPD Medical Directors, Medical Leads, Project Sponsors, and other stakeholders. More broadly the Learning & Curriculum Manager is expected to participate in wider activities within the Division such as strategic planning, staff training and development, and furthering the Division’s mission and vision.Organizational StatusThe incumbent reports to Senior Manager, Strategic Projects and Partnerships, Continuing Professional Development in the Faculty of Medicine. UBC CPD is a unique unit within the Faculty of Medicine. It is a cost recovery unit serving varied target audiences of practicing health professionals and has close relationships with high profile stakeholder organizations such as the BC Ministry of Health, Doctors of BC, Public Health Agency of Canada, and various others.The incumbent works in a fast-paced environment with a wide variety of stakeholders (i.e., provincial-level and national-level professional associations, regulatory colleges, health organizations, and Ministry of Health committees), consultants and subject matter experts who develop and deliver curriculum. The incumbent works collaboratively with leadership and senior staff at UBC CPD as well as a variety of community, provincial, national, and international partners (i.e., health administrators, agency leads, university faculty, leaders and other health professionals in practice) depending on assigned projects.Work Performed
