Job Description

We’re looking for a Marketing Assistant - Events and Social Media who loves event planning, going all out with digital presence in posts, blogs, and engaging content across various social media platforms. You get excited to support the sales, and pitch team from client research to marketing collaterals. You love creating social media content and making decent graphics or editing a bit of copy without breaking a sweat. You are highly organized when it comes to maintaining the marketing calendar because you hate that sound when missed deadlines hit the floor. If you can thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and want to make a significant impact as part of a small growing team, then we should talk. This is a stand-alone growth role where you will experience the broad spectrum of digital marketing.Who You AreAn enthusiastic recent graduate or student in their final term seeking an opportunity in communications, marketing, or event management.

  • You are an enthusiastic and eager individual who is self-driven, proactive, and resourceful.
  • You have an eye for detail and you keep yourself very organized.
  • You enjoy planning events and managing interactions such as virtual breakout rooms for prospects, sales teams, customers, and industry
  • You take notes! You are capable of conducting event kick-offs and debriefing meetings for sales and marketing teams and report back on progress.
  • You can manage social media channels (comments, engagements) and report on analytics.
What you will be doing
  • Provide research, planning, coordination, and logistical support for webinars, podcasts, panel discussions, in-person trade shows, client events, conferences and AEQ-hosted events
  • You are comfortable hosting events and managing virtual breakout rooms for prospects, partner account executives, sales teams, customers, and industry.
  • Conduct event briefings and debriefing meetings for sales and support teams. Provide event reporting.
  • Managing social media channels (comments, engagements) and report on analytics
  • Create and distribute relevant social content and campaigns that educate and grow engagement with our audience.
  • Coordinating and managing the agency #39;s relationship with an external PR agency
  • Support the sales team in managing end-to-end process of Request for Proposal (RFP) submissions.
  • Work with Wordpress to update website, images, banners, create landing pages, upload content to the blog, etc.
  • Assist with content creation and sales enablement collateral such as success stories, pitch decks, playbooks, whitepapers, infographics, webinars, advertising, blogs and multimedia.
Must Haves
  • A Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Marketing or Communications preferred
  • Some experience in planning events, either academic or corporate events.
  • Ability to travel to the USA or within Canada
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to keep organized, especially in organizing multi-faceted events.
  • Comfortable working independently and on tight timelines.
  • Comfortable wearing different hats in the entire event planning process.
Nice to Haves
  • Located in Vancouver, BC.
  • Experience in B2B, technology, or professional services.
  • Social media campaign management experience.
  • Experience with HubSpot social media planner.
  • Exceptional knowledge of LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram best practices.
