Job Description

School District No.62 (Sooke) requires permanent Noon Hour Supervision Assistants to work at the following schools:Centre Mountain Lellum Middle SchoolCrystal View Elementary SchoolHappy Valley Elementary SchoolLakewood Elementary SchoolSangster Elementary SchoolThe positions will start at the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year, September 6, 2022. These are school district paid positions, whereby adults are hired to assist schools in supervising students. Qualified candidates must be a holder of a valid Occupation First Aid Level 1 Certificate or be willing to get it at their earliest possible convenience. The hourly rate of pay is $24.91. Please see job description attached.Please see job description below.For more information about our District, please refer to our website at www.sd62.bc.ca.QUALIFICATIONS:Grade 12 graduation or equivalent.Three months of experience and over.Patience with, and care for, students and a demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed.Ability to follow school district policy and procedures.Be able to follow school “Code of Conduct” and reinforce the values to children.An ability to work well with other adults.A desire to help children.Self-assurance and a well modulated voice with the ability to speak fluently and communicate well.Appreciation of the confidential nature of all information relating to students, parents and teachers.Holder of a valid Occupational First Aid – Level One Certificate.RESPONSIBLE TO: PrincipalJOB GOAL: To assist in providing a well organized, supervised school environment in which students can take full advantage of their non-instructional time.Performance Responsibilities:Assists administration in duties relating to supervision of students during non-instructional time.Dispenses first aid and tends to children in sick room.Responsible for lunch, snack and clean-up routines.May assist children with clothing and dressing as required.Performs related work as required such as bus loading and unloading.Qualified individuals are invited to submit their resume, including the names and telephone numbers of at least two references to Make A Future, www.makeafuture.ca.We thank all applicants for their interest, however, only those candidates selected for further consideration will be contacted.Quick Apply
