The DistrictSchool District No. 51 (Boundary) encompasses 11 school sites from Big White Ski Resort east to Christina Lake, as well as 2 bus/maintenance garages and a school board office located in Grand Forks. The District employs approximately 275 employees, serves 1,300 students in K-12 and administers an annual budget of $20,000,000.SD51 is a small, rural district that operates on a 4-day school week with students in session Monday to Thursday. Grand Forks is situated on the confluence of the Kettle and Granby rivers and is approximately 2.5 hours from Nelson, Kelowna and Spokane. The Boundary is a land of fertile fields, lush valleys, lakes, rivers and mountains where you can find unlimited adventure through four distinct seasons.School District No. 51 (Boundary) is currently looking to fill the following StartStart Facilitator positions:Core Job Duties & Responsibilities:Plan and coordinate daily participant-oriented activities, special events and information sessions for parents/caregivers and their infant/pre-school children that concentrate on key aspects of early childhood development and facilitates community resource sharing;Create an environment to foster smooth transition of children into the school system;Establish connections with community partners and assist families in accessing services;Assist in budget preparation and purchasing of program supplies/materials;Maintain daily, monthly and quarterly statistics for reporting purposes;Participate in job-related training and development, as well as attend meetings/conferences as required;Work within school and district policies and procedures and related WorkSafeBC regulations.Required Skills & Qualifications:Grade 12 plus a current Early Childhood Education (ECE) certificate, including a Community Care Facilities Branch BC license to practice;A valid Emergency Childcare first aid certificate;Two years experience, obtained within the last three years, as an Early Childhood Educator (in addition to experience acquired in obtaining the ECE certificate);Knowledge and commitment to child development, early learning, family dynamics and community resources;Ability to work proactively and in a self-directed manner; andEffective communication, problem-solving and organization skills.The positions are as follows:Hutton Elementary StrongStart Centre, 20 hours/week, Monday to ThursdayChristina Lake Elementary StrongStart Centre, 8 hours/week, divided over two days, Monday to ThursdayHours and duties to be performed will be assigned by the Superintendent or designate.
