When a position that matches your qualifications becomes available it #39;s that much easier to connect!A Safety Assurance Engineer is required to support the production of safety process in accordance with FRA requirements and CENELEC safety standards. Additionally, the safety assurance officer provides independent review of and general guidance to the safety engineering teams to ensure compliance with relevant FRA regulations and international safety standards.Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:- Act as independent reviewer for all safety related documentation- Work with site safety engineers. The Safety Manager, and projects to understand timescale for delivery of safety related documentation and plan sufficient time for reviews- Develop safety engineering related processes for approval by the business- Conduct Audits of safety engineering activities and report findings to senior management- Conduct training in safety engineeringRequirements:- BSEE/BSCS/BSCE and minimum 10 years system safety engineering experience- An understanding of System Safety Engineering concepts, especially CENELEC and functional safety- Familiarity with CAFTA, FTAs, and FMEAs- Railroad experience required- Safety auditor experience a plus- Attention to detail; approaches work in a meticulous and thorough manner- Makes effective decisions by analyzing information and considering priorities- Good oral and written communication skills- 20-30% travel requirementAdditional Qualifications:- Rail PTC Systems and FRA and CENELEC standards experienceWabtec Corporation is committed to taking on the world #39;s toughest challenges.
