The Mental Health Therapy Assistant operates as a member of a multidisciplinary team under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor and reports to the Manager of Addictionsamp; Mental Health Brooks. This role involves providing crucial services to individuals facing chronic and persistent addiction and mental health challenges. Responsibilities include assisting clients in obtaining necessities such as housing, food, and clothing, helping with applications for programs like AISH and Alberta Works, delivering medications, and occasionally providing transportation to medical appointments. Additionally, the person in this position conducts risk assessments and ensures that safety protocols are implemented and followed in all situations.Description:As a Mental Health Therapy Assistant, you will assist with the provision of individual, group and recreational programming to inpatients and outpatients receiving Mental Healthamp; Psychiatric Services. Community support staff enabling adults living with mental health issues to experience supports. You will fulfill four key roles: - Service Provider: Supports the patient/client and assists the therapist with direct and indirect client care and non-client service provision. - Collaborator: Works effectively with internal and external partners to optimize services. - Life Long Learner: Enhances competency and service through reflective practice and continuous learning. - Paraprofessional: applies professionalism and ethics to the provision of person-centered care and participation within the multidisciplinary team.
