Job Description

Overview:We are seeking experienced Electrical power line and cable workers to construct, maintain and repair overhead and underground electrical power transmission and distribution systems.What would you be doing

  • Erect and maintain steel, wood or concrete poles, towers, and guy wires
  • Install, maintain and repair overhead and underground power lines and cables, insulators, conductors, lightning arrestors, switches, transformers, street lighting and associated equipment
  • Splice, solder and insulate conductors and related wiring to connect power distribution and transmission networks
  • Operate heavy equipment including ariel booms, diggers, backhoes, trackhoes, skid steers and tension stringing equipment
  • Powerline QA/QC oversight and turnover management.
Does this sound like you
  • Journeyperson Lineman or PLT certificate obtained
  • Physically able to handle weight up to 50lbs
  • Ensuring safe work practices, EH S processes, and OH S compliance are followed on site
  • Valid and up to date safety tickets: TDG, WHMIS, CSTS-20, Ground Disturbance, H2S Alive (an asset)
  • Proficient computer-based knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Microsoft Project
  • LSE or equivalent safety training
  • Experience supervising power line construction is preferred
  • Ability to perform right of way clearing activities, surveying, tower base construction, monopole installations, dressing poles and cable stringing and affixing
  • ROW Environmental best practices
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry is preferred
