Job Description

Project Manager-Brooks, ABWith approximately 3,300 employees, JBS Food Canada ULC (“JBS Canada”) is one of Canadas largest beef processors. Consisting of four locations—the main processing facility located in Brooks, Alberta, where approximately 4,200 head of cattle are harvested and processed daily; the Head Office and a case ready plant, both based in Calgary, Alberta; and JBS Ontario, a case ready plant located in Belleville, Ontario. The JBS Canada facility in Brooks has the capacity to produce products ranging from boxed beef primals, ground beef, beef trimmings, beef by-products and hides which are shipped across Canada and worldwide. At the multi-protein Mountain Creek Farms case-ready facility in Calgary, JBS Canada produces value-added products including marinated, portion sized, multi-pack options, kebabs and much more. JBS Ontario in Belleville produces fresh meat and seafood products for leading retailers in Canada.During the pandemic, we have implemented hundreds of safety measures including offering unlimited PPE, constructing permanent physical barriers, establishing physical distancing protocols, and installing hospital-grade ventilation systems in all of our facilities.At JBS Canada, our people are our greatest asset. We are currently seeking the Project Manager to join our team at our Maintenance Department, Brooks, Alberta PlantNOTE: This role will be located in Brooks, Alberta. Relocation Assistant AvailableQualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferable Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of project management experience
  • Experience with Capital Project activities; Experience using QlikView and Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficient in AutoCad, MS-Project or equivalent project management tools
  • Experience using SAP is an asset
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with high attention to detail;
  • Ability to think ahead and anticipate issues before they arise;
  • Strong communication and influencing skills;
  • Experience in food processing or other manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with regulators compliance (OH&S, building code, electrical and environmental code)
  • Self-directed, has initiative and a strong multi-tasking ability;
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure large scale strategic projects are effectively managed within defined project management framework.
  • Ensure effective project management monitoring and reporting;
  • Prepare and analyze tender documents, budgets, estimates and schedules;
  • Oversee and coordinate contractors, vendors and other individuals involved in the project;
  • Obtain required permits and licenses for projects;
  • Maintain documents, update drawings related to building and equipment layouts;
  • Stay updated on technological developments to aid the facility;
  • Development of projects by identifying and evaluating potential opportunities to improve;
  • Prepare presentations and proposals to senior management;
  • Develop, plan and prepare day to day management of multiple activities of projects, supporting/leading working teams and preparing updates for senior decision makers;
  • Work with a high sense of urgency and the ability to swiftly and accurately respond to ad-hoc requests, while prioritizing to meet deadlines;
  • Establish, evaluate and maintain departmental reports and key indicators. Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed;
  • Work cooperatively with fellow employees, contractors, and suppliers
  • Other tasks and assignments within the realm of Corporate and Plant Engineering.
