Purchasing Agents are responsible for the ordering, processing, and procurement of requested material, as well as assisting the Warehouse Associates as required. This position will work in a combined office and shop environment from Monday to Friday, 7am-5pm. The ideal candidate will be team-orientated, have the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and initiatives and is interested in growing personally and professionally with us.Responsibilities:As our Purchasing Agent you will be responsible for:

• Assist Senior Purchasers in the management of orders and requests coming in from the field.
• Purchase all maintenance orders in the service management module.
• Collaborate with Senior Purchasers to understand and purchase hard dollar construction jobs.
• Create and bill direct sales efficiently.
• Conduct product research to gather pricing, availability, sourcing and pursue cost savings where possible.
• Offer and provide product knowledge to customers.
• Process orders from start to finish by following established procedures while ensuring proper communication is followed.
• Ensure that the operating system data is accurate and up to date.
• Verify that all backorders are tracked and communicated efficiently.
• Confirm details of delivery according to scheduled times and commitment dates and ensure that information is communicated accordingly.
• Ensure inventory control procedures are in place and adhered to.
• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and clients.
• Arrange for the loading and transport of materials and supplies.
• Work closely with Junior Purchasers to ensure correct process and procedures are followed and knowledge is passed on.
• Off-load freight as required and assist the shipping and receiving department.
• Adhere to company health, safety and environmental practices and procedures.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma with 1 year related experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs - Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams.
• Attention to detail with the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
• Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to handle a variety of time sensitive tasks.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaborate as part of team.
• Ability to take initiative and learn new tasks quickly.
• Demonstrated research, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
