Your Opportunity:The Brooks Health Centre Medical Device Reprocessing Department is open Monday to Friday, 07:00 to 15:15, but our shift rotation is currently under review and will change. Surgical procedures occur Mon to Thu. We will remain closed weekends and STATs. Our team provides services to the BHC Surgical and Endoscopy Suite and their different programs and departments. You also have the opportunity to pick up shifts at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital. This is a great opportunity for anyone wanting to live the small city atmosphere with benefits of living close to Kinbrook Island Provincial Park, Dinosaur Provincial Park, a 1-hour drive away from Medicine Hat, 1 3/4 hours from Lethbridge and 2 hours from Calgary.Description:As a Surgical Processor, you will be responsible for the decontamination, reassembly and sterilization of hospital supplies, equipment and surgical instrumentation. You will use the principles of aseptic technique and follow Universal Precautions in the prevention of Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI). You will ensure instrumentation and equipment is in proper working order, perform biological, chemical and quality assurance testing and report problems to the supervisor or designate.
