Please view our City of Brooks Careers Corner page for more details.The City of Brooks requires one (1) Temporary Cashier in the Finance Department, operating out of City Hall. This position may have the potential to be extended into a full-time position.Job Details & Responsibilities:As our Temporary Cashier, you will be responsible for receiving account payments from ratepayers, providing backup coverage for the Receptionist, and assisting the public at the front counter with regard to general inquiries while demonstrating the ability to deal politely and effectively with the public and co-workersEducation and Experience Requirements:1. Completion of a High School Diploma or equivalent;2. Minimum of six (6) months to one (1) year of experience in a similar setting;3. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered;4. Strong public relations and verbal communication skills;5. Proficient in Microsoft Office;6. Ability to plan, prioritize and manage workload including the ability to tolerate frequent interruptions and still meet deadlines;7. Strong prioritizing and multi-tasking skills;8. Team orientated with open communication style;9. Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy;10. Demonstrated ability to show initiative;11. Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding department and municipal matters; and12. Subject to a criminal record check.Compensation & Benefits:

  • The 2022 starting wage for this position is $22.63 per hour. Regular working hours between Monday- Friday 8:00am-4:15pm
  • The successful applicant will receive a free membership to the JBS Canada Centre during the term of employment.
A clean criminal records check, child welfare check and commercial vehicle driver’s abstract will be required before an offer of employment is presented to the successful candidate.
