Job Description

On behalf of our Public Sector Client, Ignite Technical Resources is recruiting for a Business Systems Analyst – Data Strategy to join our Client #39;s team on a 6-month contract basis. This role is Hybrid and the Client is based in Burnaby, BC.Summary of the RoleThe Business Systems Analyst – Data Strategy will support a Data Governance Test Case initiative as part of the client #39;s broader Data Strategy program. This role bridges business needs with data solutions, ensuring alignment through analysis, process mapping, and active stakeholder engagement. It plays a key role in identifying gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities in data-related processes and systems.Dutiesamp; Responsibilities

  • Support the design and implementation of a Data Governance Test Case as a proof of concept
  • Conduct process mapping, data profiling, and gap analysis
  • Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and facilitate data strategy alignment
  • Produce high-quality documentation including business requirements, data mappings, and process diagrams
  • Collaborate with project managers, data architects, and analytics leads to drive delivery and identify automation opportunities
Core Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst focused on data analytics
  • Proficiency with reporting tools, particularly PowerBI
  • Demonstrated experience in data-focused projects (profiling, gap analysis, complex documentation)
  • Experience producing BRDs, process maps, and data mappings
  • Familiarity with enterprise data platforms or data warehouses
Desired Skillsamp; Experience
  • Exposure to public sector or multi-stakeholder environments
  • Understanding of data governance principles
  • Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement capabilities
  • Experience with process automation
  • Hands-on experience with analytics tools and reporting frameworks
TermsThis is a 6-month contract role with potential for extension. The role is Hybrid with an expectation of approximately two onsite days per week, particularly during the first month. The successful candidate must be legally entitled to work in Canada and will be required to undergo a criminal records check at the offer stage.
