Union/Affiliation:Administrative and Professional Staff (APSA)Pay range:$56,108 to $67,004 annuallySFU Department Descr:Sociology & Anthropology and Labour Studies ProgramPosition Grade:6# of openings:1Biweekly Hours:72Reporting to the Manager, Sociology & Anthropology, and supervised by the Managers, Sociology & Anthropology and Labour Studies, the Coordinator, Communications and Events develops, implements, and maintains the communications profile of the Sociology & Anthropology and Labour Studies units through print, web, electronic, and other media. The incumbent works collaboratively with faculty, staff, programs, research centers, and institutes to conceive, develop, and distribute communications highlighting the achievements of faculty, students, alumni, and staff. The incumbent conceptualizes and organizes events and conferences that help with recruiting new students, to raise the public profile and support the objectives of the Sociology & Anthropology and Labour Studies units. The incumbent works in cooperation with University Communications and FASS to ensure consistency in identifying and communicating key messages and engaging relevant audiences with regular communication updates. The incumbent initiates contact and builds relationships with the Sociology & Anthropology and Labour Studies units alumni.Qualifications:Undergraduate degree with four years of related experience, including experience in writing, communications, event planning, and website design, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
