The Americas team champions the values of Integrity, Ownership, Customer Focus, Creativity and Care to help us deliver on People Safety, Food Safety, Quality and Collaboration.POSITION PURPOSETo direct and motivate employees using interpersonal communication, good leadership and organizational skills.DAILY TASKSCo-operate and maintain communications with other departments reporting any problems to the appropriate supervisor and/or manager.Settle conflicts quickly and to the satisfaction of all parties involved within the terms set by the Collective Agreements.Implement and maintain company policies.Work with procurement to avoid shortage of raw materials and packaging.Work with production to ensure orders are complete.Schedule work times for department in conjunction with Production Manager.Resolve payroll issues through time card editing in E-Time.Carry out Quality Assurance to ensure raw materials and finished goods meet specifications.Do up sample requests and follow-up.Supervise daily shipping and receiving activities.Schedule in-bound/out-bound freight in conjunction with Logistics.Maintain an accurate and organized finished goods inventory.Maintain inventory by conducting monthly physical counts.Implement and work in accordance to G.M.P. (Good Manufacturing Practices) regulations.Implement and promote safe work practices in the Bakery.Co-ordinate cross training positions.Train new employees and report on their progress to the Logistics Manager.Maintain a clean warehouse by organizing floor space and racking space.Monitor forklift equipment and warehouse racking for damage control.Complete all paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.Problem solve, analyze and identify waste areas and recommend solutions.Carry out duties as specified by Management.Temperature for all production process.Adhere to GMPs and Health and Safety rules as outlined in employee handbookKeep work area clean and clear of hazardsReport any unsafe conditions, incidents or injuries to supervisor immediatelyUse all prescribed personal protective equipmentEnsure GMP’s and safe food handling practices are being followedAll tools to be cleaned and maintained in good repair. Report any broken, damaged, or missing tools to your supervisor. Do not discard any damaged or broken tools.Follow all GMPs including maintaining personal hygiene, hand washing/sanitizing hands, clean up spills (i.e., ingredients, water, debris and wood)Report any foreign material findings to managerReport all ceiling leaks to managerAs part of food security, report any unusual people or behavior to managerPrimarily in contact with:Bakery Director through daily verbal contact on major objectives or issues. Also reports through weekly reports and weekly management meetings, quarterly action plans, quarterly mandates and annual reviews.Manufacturing Group - Daily discussion to ensure finished goods and packaging and raw materials requirements are met.Sales Group - Contact daily or as required to ensure product being shipped as required.Financial Group - Daily to ensure accurate handling of shipping documents and ensuing invoices.3rd Party Trucking - Daily basis thru the Logistics Analyst to ensure our trucking system is efficient.Production Planner - As required to ensure finished goods inventories are accurate and kept at minimum levels.Purchasing Manager – As required thru his Warehouse Supervisor to ensure inventories are reported accurately and that we are maintaining raw material and packaging levels at the minimum possible levels. Critical that these two positions work very closely together.Perform other duties as requiredQUALIFICATIONSRelevant Post Secondary education preferred.Minimum Grade 12 education with excellent English oral and written communication skills.Solid understanding of Union environments and the rules.Leadership skills and behaviours that contribute to superior performanceDecision making skillsCurrent First Aid Level 2 certification an asset.Good problem solving/trouble shooting and conflict management skillsExcellent computer knowledge and able to learn new programs quickly; Must have SAP experienceKnowledge of WHMIS / MSDS program.Knowledge of WSBC regulations.Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.Fork Lift Driving Certificate.Inventory Management experience.Must have an understanding of production environments.Interpersonal skills and emotional intelligenceWilling to work shifts.Basic math computability and basic computer skills an asset.Able to understand scheduling process.Able to trouble shoot and has a basic understanding of equipment and acceptable functions.Must be able to work with minimum supervision and in a team environment.Physical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
