Job Description

And that’s what we do: our customized sand control solutions allow us to respond quickly to the ever-changing variability of our customers vertical and horizontal well operations.With our headquarters in Calgary, and manufacturing facilities in Leduc, we also have field offices in Swift Current, Brooks, Lloydminster, and Provost Alberta.Flow Control Design Engineer Our people are passionate and have a strong belief in our mission to provide flow control liner solutions to the oil and gas industry.The Flow Control Design Engineer (FCDE) will play an integral role in the deployment of our products to industry by working with our business development team to create functional well designs for our clients. They will collaborate with our multi-disciplinary team, engaging with a variety of experts and perspectives.The FCDE will report directly to the Sr. Engineer. The FCDE is responsible for supporting the development and deployment of Flow Control Devices. The role will consist of a mix of deployment planning for existing equipment and lab work to develop novel tools and methods for evaluation.Strong analytical math skills, pragmatic test execution, and data processing are critical.The successful candidates will be able to:

  • Develop and define methods for well FCD deployment leveraging existing methods
  • Support with tracking of wells deployed and client data reviews of well performance
  • Supporting all aspects of qualification and design of test methods including definition and procurement
  • Leading test procedures once fully defined.
  • Responsible for writing/producing testing documentation for new tools including: test reports, assembly procedure, raw data and observations.
  • Apply engineering concepts, theories, and practices in pragmatic and innovative ways to design and test new products.This role ranges from concept development all the way through to manufacturing the end product.
  • Monthly accountability updates on long term tasks and progress
  • Proactive engagement with product development and sales team to develop awareness of company offerings and room for improvement.
  • Professional technical reporting in MS Word and PowerPoint, with thorough and detailed backup and distilled client ready summary.
  • Maintenance of strict confidentiality of confidential client information and Variperm
Skills, knowledge and experience:Required
  • A bachelor #39;s degree in engineering or in a related engineering discipline (mechanical or reservoir preferred).
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams,amp; Outlook)
  • Efficient handling and transformation of large data sets
  • Knowledge of scripting, programming, and numerical computation
  • The ability to handle confidential information in an ethical and professional manner
  • Attention to detail in data preparation, analytics, document assembly and publishing
  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Goal oriented with a strong sense of urgency and ownership
  • Ability to work as an individual or as part of a team​​​​​​
Asset
  • Experience with GIS/geospatial data processing, integration, and analysis
  • Experience building or supporting data visualizations
  • Experience building/creating 2D animations
  • Deep intellectual curiosity with a results-focused relentless pursuit of answers
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, embrace change and ambiguity
