Previous experience in a metal fabrication shop is not required, however a basic knowledge and ability to use small power tools such as angle grinders and hand drills is a necessity.Work Schedule:We are seeing candidates for ROTATING DAY shifts. Shift rotations include weekends. This role is eligible for significant overtime based on production needs. Duties:· Perform general tasks as assigned by Supervisor· Handle materials – within the shop and outdoors as required· Assisting various machine operators in setup; moving materials in and out of the shop using overhead hoist and forklift· Operate basic hand tools and powered hand tools.· Operate various equipment as described in company procedures· Perform work safely and follow established work procedures· General shop cleaning· Adhere to health, safety and quality policies, as well as all company policies andprocedures· Participate in training and safety meetings· Other duties as requiredCompetencies· Able to meet deadlines and do so safely· Mechanically inclined, ability to use small hand tools and/or power tools· Attention to detail· Team player· Strong aptitude to understand drawings· Good verbal and written communication skills· Able to follow and understand both oral and written instructions in EnglishQualifications/Requirements· Grade 12 or GED – additional education past high school would be an asset· Manufacturing and forklift/overhead crane training or experience an asset· Good physical fitness· Stand or walk for long periods of time· Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate materials· Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs, lift items weighing more than 50 lbs withassistance from other workers, forklift and/or overhead hoist· Exposure to fine dust and airborne particles, high noise levelWorking ConditionsYou must be able to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50lbs, and lift over 50lbs with the help of other workers, forklift, and/or overhead hoist. There will be exposure to fine dust and airborne particles, high noise levels. While the worksite is primarily indoors, occasional outdoor work will be required.We would like to thank all applicants.
