Job Description

With the largest fleet of specialty trailers in the world, the company is uniquely positioned to meet the growing demand for low and zero-emission fuel distribution.Summary:Reporting to the Operations Controller, the Senior Operations Accounting Analyst will work as an integrated team member of the operations accounting team and be responsible for reporting requirements within the organization. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a company and team who are constantly seeking out ways to leverage technology to improve processes and deliver value-added information and analysis to leaders across the business.This role is well suited to someone that enjoys a fast-paced team environment where tackling the challenges of a rapidly growing company are embraced with enthusiasm.The position is based in the Calgary corporate office with a hybrid remote work option. Schedule:

  • This position holds normal business hours, with little to no travel expected.
  • We support a hybrid work environment consisting of flexible remote work and some in-person collaboration at our Calgary corporate office.
Dutiesamp; Responsibilities:
  • Validate cost and revenue analysis results for assigned departments.
  • Collaborate with other functional departments management to interpret financial results, isolate business drives and forecast future spending.
  • Perform variance analyses and prepare account reconciliations.
  • Prepare segment financial Reports and explain results to executive management.
  • Reconcile billing and cost information between the ticketing and accounting systems.
  • Review the month end job margins and explain significant variances.
  • Team up with the sales department to validate billing terms on projects.
  • Investigate inconsistencies in project inputs and resolve with operations and sales teams.
  • Facilitate the vendor invoice approval process.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Commerce Degree with a Professional accountancy program (CPA) is required.
  • 5+ years of relevant financial accounting or management reporting.
  • Knowledge and experience with public company reporting requirements and C-SOX controls.
  • System savvy – Oracle NetSuite experience.
  • A self-starter, motivated individual ready to lean on and learn new systems and processes.
  • Data analytics a significant asset, with strong MS365 suite skills.
  • Highly service-oriented with outstanding communication, organization, and critical thinking skills.
  • Detail oriented and takes initiative and is adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity and change.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: a team player who can act as both a leader and an individual contributor as required.
