Ref ID: 05000-0012449335Classification: Sr. AccountantCompensation: DOEOur client, in the energy sector, requires a senior Corporate Accountant for a 6 month contract with the possibility for extension. The successful candidate will have extensive corporate accounting experience and hold a CPA designation.Responsibilities:

  • Assist with month end and quarter end activities in the corporate accounting department
  • Account for compensation, including long term incentive, severance and vacation accruals
  • Accounting for debt financing and cross-currency swap entries
  • Involvement in merger and acquisition, divestiture analysis and accounting
  • Monthly and quarterly variance analysis
  • Account reconciliations - preparation and peer review
  • Review and mentorship of junior staff
  • Process efficiencies and improvement, along with any other ad hoc requirements
Job Requirements:Requirements:
  • CPA designation with a minimum of 8-10 years of experience
  • SAP experience or exposure to other large ERP systems
  • Corporate accounting knowledge and best practices
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS
  • Strong communication skills
