Job Description

Mechanical Engineering Draftsperson We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Draftsperson to become a part of our team! You will be required to perform a variety of engineering tasks, as well as identify areas of improvement to increase operational efficiency.Responsibilities:

  • Draft routine working sketches and layouts.
  • Calculate basic engineering aspects of routine drafting problems like stress, sizing, and flexibility.
  • Determine material and equipment selection and create estimates and specifications.
  • Draft routine reports and correspondence.
  • Apply basic algebra and geometry concepts.
  • Create and revise CAD models and draw using computer hardware and software.
  • Develop 2D drawings from 3D models or parts in AutoCad through common drafting standards.
  • Update and revise 2D drawings on changes needed by Engineers and Designers.
  • Manage drawing system integrity in the product data management system.
  • Complete drawing project groups by documenting and organizing.
  • Support Engineering Team.
  • Create manufacturing drawings from 3D SolidWorks models.
  • Manage drawing files and drawings and quality standards.
  • Check drafts and ensure accuracy and completeness with department designers.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in mechanical engineering or other related fields.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing designs or schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of Solid Works.
  • Knowledge of other 3D Software.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal will be an asset.
