Job Description

Job Description – Press Operator Summary: Ensure parts are within specifications and checks are done on time while providing input on tooling issues Essential Dutiesamp; Responsibilities:

  • Visually inspects parts for quality as per inspection instructions (minimum 15 minute requirement) and informs lead hand or supervisor of quality issues
  • Ensure contamination escalation procedures are followed.Parts must be acceptable before stacking/filling the production population bins
  • Report malfunctioning dies and equipment to Press Technician/Lead Hand or Supervisor immediately
  • Perform quality checks as required in ERP SYSTEM (completes first offs)
  • Assist with the loading, unloading of dies and rings from press, including re-sets with the direction of Press Technician/Lead Hand.
  • Assists Press Technician with die changes as required
  • Perform strip startups and press restarts when press faults occur under direction of Press Technician/Lead Hands
  • Enters all relevant production data into ERP SYSTEM hourly (including day by hour boards)
  • Accurate recording of time including time clock, job activities, and other data entry and instructions, including Policy, Employee and Safety Manuals
  • Attends all company specified training as required
  • Participates in continuous improvement activities
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area at all times (5S concept)
  • Other duties as assigned within the general scope of manufacturing
  • Accurate recording of time including time-clock, job activities and other data entry
  • Regular and punctual attendance at work
  • Compliance with relevant policies, procedures and instructions including Code of Conduct
Qualificationsamp; Experience
  • Manufacturing related experience using presses or equivalent as asset
  • Mechanical/technical aptitude an asset
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Basic Math (add, subtract, multiply, divide)

  • Basic level of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Basic data entry computer skills
