Come be part of our vision as CMH leads in innovation and compassion!To learn more about CMH, please visit our website at www.cmh.org.Registered Respiratory Therapists at Cambridge Memorial Hospital are integral members of critical care, pulmonary diagnostic and general clinical practice teams.This position supports the Pulmonary Diagnostic Program and associated work with the ambulatory care and in-patient populations related to diagnostic testing.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Perform pulmonary function procedures including spirometry, lung volume determination, diffusion capacity, methacholine challenge, and arterial blood gas puncture
  • Assists in the monitoring of pulmonary function equipment, conducts calibration and quality control checks according to standards, and arranges for maintenance/repair as required
  • Provides clinical support and instruction of Conestoga College Respiratory Student
  • Document and maintain accurate patient records and observations
The physical demands of the job may include but are not limited to prolonged sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling and lifting. This position contributes to ensuring there is a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.Must be available to work days, evenings, nights and weekends.Schedule may consist of 8 or 12 hour shifts.Posted hours do not constitute a guarantee that shifts will not be subject to change. Skills and Qualifications:
  • Must be a member in good standing of the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario
  • Current membership in good standing with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists and Respiratory Therapy Society of Ontario
  • Current BCLS certificate required
  • ACLS certificate preferred
  • 1-2 years’ experience in all aspects of pulmonary function testing is required
  • Must be an extremely motivated individual, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet workload requirements
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis is required
