Administration and Sales AssistantDo you love actually contributing to the success of a local business, not just feeling like another cogOur family run business has been around 1989. We have seen a lot of growth over the last year and are poised for that to increase this coming year with distribution across Canada and in the coming years with export to the US. This position is being added in collaboration with the Canada Summer Jobs program, with an official title of “Administrative Assistant” but will have a variety of work to keep it interesting. This is a permanent position so we are hoping for someone to join us who will stay for the long term!Tasks will primarily focus on connecting with grocery store managers, answering phones, handling email correspondence, ordering ingredients and helping put them away when they arrive, data entry in the computer, packing orders and getting them shipped off, running errands, and invoicing customers. As a small business, everyone helps with cleaning tasks. There will likely also be opportunity to put on a hairnet and apron to help on the packaging line when needed. We are looking for someone who is fluent with computers, isn’t afraid to sit in the office making phone calls to grocery store managers to talk about our products, and then likes to get up and pack the orders they just took. The Canada Summer Jobs program is intended to provide opportunities that will develop career skills so training will be provided but it would be great to have someone join us who at least has basic administration level skills and enjoys talking in a relaxed but professional style on the phone (there are no high pressure sales here). We have fun at work and hope you will too! There is so much to say about this opportunity but if we’ve peaked your interest thus far then please submit your resume AND tell us what appeals to you about the position, how your past experiences relate, and what your career aspirations are for the next few years. Don’t just send us a generic resume… that’ll tip us off that you didn’t read to the end! No drop-in applicants please. Thanks for your interest, we look forward to your application.Starting hourly wage is $17/hr for 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday during business hours. If you are just applying for jobs to rack up some EI hours, please have pity and move along to the next job, we don’t have the time or energy. We are growing and want you to grow right along with us!Qualifying criteria for the CSJ program:· Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment.· Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred.· Have a valid Social Insurance Number.· Preference will be given to applicants from groups that are underrepresented or have additional barriers such as visible minorities, Indigenous youth, women in STEM programs (science, technology, engineering, mathematics), and youth who have not been previously employed.Part-time hours: 30 per weekJob Types: Full-time, Part-time, PermanentSalary: From $17.00 per hourSchedule:
