Worker’s AdvisorManagement Band 2

  • Two (2) positions available.
  • These positions can be performed virtually from anywhere in British Columbia. There is office space available in the following WAO locations: Campbell River, Kamloops, Kelowna, Nanaimo, Prince George, Richmond, Victoria and Langley.
  • This position is excluded from union membership.
  • An eligibility list may be established.
NOTE: Although this position has onsite office-based requirements, it may be performed virtually. Due to present physical distancing requirements related to COVID-19, the recruitment process for this competition may take place virtually.NOTE: Over time through performance based in-range movement employees will have the opportunity to reach the maximum of their position’s salary band. The starting salary for this position is expected to be approximately $85,000 annually, with the starting salary to be commensurate with experience and qualifications.Apply your sound judgement, decision-making and analytical skills in a key leadership role!The Workers’ Advisers Office is independent of WorkSafeBC (Workers’ Compensation Board) and is established by Section 94 of the Workers’ Compensation Act (WCA) to provide advice, assistance and representation to injured workers and their dependents with workers’ compensation claims.Workers’ Advisers are responsible for managing a large number of complex files and providing excellent service to clients in a responsive, professional manner. The Workers’ Advisers Office provides expert, independent advice regarding the interpretation of the Workers Compensation Act, its regulations and policies. A Workers’ Adviser conducts research and evidence gathering to provide clear, sound, and timely submissions and/or representations at appeals.The role of the Adviser is to advise, assist, and represent injured workers and their dependents in regards to their claims and provide interpretation of the WCA. Representation involves written and or oral submissions to WorkSafeBC, Review Division and Workers’ Compensation Appeal Tribunal. The Advisers maintain ongoing dialogue with claimants; with internal contacts including other ministries, MLA’s, the Ombudsperson, WorkSafeBC agiliatFair Practices Office and other departments.
