Information Management OfficerThe City of Campbell River is seeking a permanent full-time Information Management Officer to join our Legislative Services team. We are a 45-minute drive from the winter and summer activities of Mount Washington, and just minutes from more than 100 km of all levels of mountain biking and hiking trails, plus easy access to the ocean, rivers and lakes for sports fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding and whale watching.The Role – Reporting to the Legislative Services Manager, in this exempt management role, you will be performing a broad range of corporate administration duties including supervising assigned administrative staff, and managing/overseeing the following functions: Protection of Privacy and Access to Information; Corporate Records and Information Management Program; Legal Administration - Corporate Property Management; Corporate Policy Administration; and Corporate Agreements.In addition, you will be assigned the duties of Deputy Corporate Officer and will be responsible to undertake the duties of the Corporate Officer in their absence (with the exception of acting as the clerk during Council or Committee meetings); executing the role of Deputy Chief Election Officer for local government elections; and acting as the Freedom of Information Coordinator.The successful candidate will bring five years recent, progressively responsible administrative experience in a similar role, in corporate services, legislative services, legal services, real estate and/or records and information management, preferably in a local government environment, and will hold a degree or diploma in public or business administration, legal studies, library sciences, information management or a related field. One year supervisory experience, preferably in a unionized environment, is also required. Membership in the Association of Records Managers and Administrators (ARMA) Canada and a certificate in records and information management is considered an asset. An assessable equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.Some additional requirements for success in this role are:
