Job Description

The Outtrip Meals Coordinator is responsible for overseeing that all our COLTies, school groups and guests who head out on trip are well fed. We seek a highly motivated, systems oriented individual.Duties

  • Knowledge and experience of different kinds of outtrips and their nutritional demands. Ie: differentiating menus for portaging canoe trips, alpine trips, basecamp based expeditions or picnic lunches.
  • Plan and provide food order requirements to chef
  • Pack food for all expeditions/off site trips as well as packed or picnic lunches
  • Create nutritious menus for all expeditions
  • Train instructors on how to prepare those menus in the field
  • Ability to easily give, receive and implement feedback during instructor debriefs and meetings with programs staff
  • Meticulous care in working with anaphylactic allergens and managing ingredients to avoid the possibility of cross contaminations or error. Ie: omitting common allergens from certain menus and tracking allergy information for participants on all trips.
