Job Description

ROV Technician (West Coast Vancouver Is.)Cermaq Canada is currently seeking a permanent full-time ROV (Remote Operated Vehicle) Technician for our Tofino saltwater farm sites. The ROV technician controls the underwater unit from an outdoor location on the saltwater farm site. If you have education and/or experience in ROV systems and maintenance, and in saltwater salmon production, we want to hear from you.Cermaq is a world leading salmon farming company.   • Safely operating and maintaining the underwater ROV in all outdoor weather conditions.
  • Operating the ROV to inspect the farm nets and welfare of the fish
  • Provide support to the sea site through general husbandry operations, ensuring a healthy lifecycle of the fish from smolt intakes, growth, to harvest
  • Operating heavy machinery such as forklifts and watercraft
Position Requirements:
  • Remotely Operated Vehicles Technician Diploma or related experience
  • You have previous education or work experience in aquaculture
  • A team player, gets along great with others and are always looking to lend a hand
  • Ability to work independently, without supervision; you take initiative and apply your critical thinking skills to solve problems
  • You are physically fit, enjoy being outside, are willing to work in all types of weather conditions and are comfortable being on the water
  • You are dependable, safety conscious, have a strong work ethic and positive attitude
Position Details:
  • Permanent Full Time.
  • Camp work; 8 – 10-hour days on, 6 days off.
  • Bus to a from work and camp food, are provided by the company.
