Senior Manager – CPA FirmOverview:A respected Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) firm serving the North Island for over 50 years is looking for the right person to join our team at Chase Sekulich Inc. We are offering an exceptional opportunity for a self-driven Chartered Professional Accountant with excellent accounting skills and an upbeat attitude to work on multiple and diverse assignments serving our clients. To be successful as a Manager, candidates must possess strong organizational, communication, analytical and technology skills and be comfortable taking initiative. The ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines is an ongoing expectation. Most importantly, we care about the work we do for our clients, so we keep our standards high which leads to efficient engagements and the ability to meet our clients ever changing needs.This position offers:

  • A standard 35-hour workweek
  • Payment of annual professional dues

  • Workplace flexibility (hybrid work model opportunities available only - full-time remote is not an option)
Responsibilities:
  • Review and sign off compilation engagements in Caseware, including adjusting entries, supporting working papers and financial statements
  • Review and finalize corporate and personal income tax returns in Profile
  • Review and finalize annual information returns (T4, T5, T5018, etc.)
  • Written and oral communication with clients, colleagues, government agencies and other third parties
  • Managing and ensuring client deadlines are met
  • Supervision and training of accounting staff
  • Other duties as required
Requirements:
  • Education/Licensing – Canadian CPA designation is required
  • At least 3 to 5 years’ post-designation experience in a public practice accounting firm is preferred
  • Previous experience reviewing personal and corporate income tax returns and compilation engagements is preferred
  • Comprehensive income tax (federal and provincial) and GST knowledge
  • Strong accounting and analytical skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Dedicated to providing excellent client service
  • Available to work overtime when necessary
