The Coast Area Pricing Team is a regional team responsible for the operational pricing and measurement of timber harvested from across the Coast Forest Region of British Columbia. The Team’s program areas include timber cruising, stumpage appraisals, timber scaling, logging waste residue measurements, invoice billing, log export authorizations, and marine log salvage. The Team is responsible for revenue oversight, minimizing revenue risk, and ensuring revenue accuracy while promoting forest sector competitiveness. The Coast Area Pricing Team works within the Provincial Timber Pricing Program to assert the financial interests of the government’s forest resources in a systematic and equitable manner. The Provincial Timber Pricing Program is focused on addressing the Ministry’s mandate under the Ministry of Forest and Range Act.This position provides area-based scaling services to the seven natural resource districts within the south and west coast regions of the Coast Area. It is a key position that assists in the overall administration of the regional scaling program, providing expertise and assistance to staff, licensees and other clients on matters relating to scaling.
