The successful applicant may be required to load and unload truck. The majority of time as a class 1 driver is spent driving. Previous experience backing into an asphalt paver, loading asphalt under a silo, operating a loader and spreading gravel are all considered valuable assets.This position requires a Class 1 licenseJob Overview and ResponsibilitiesMaintain daily logs as required, perform trip inspection on equipment operated and loaded ensuring safety and road worthiness, other paperwork as necessaryExperience loading, securing and transporting various types of materials and or heavy equipment would be an assetComply with applicable legislation including safe operation, carriage of goods, drivers hours, and occupational health & safetyComply with Border Paving Ltd. safe working procedures and practicesRequires a flexible work schedule including overtime, weekend and out of town work as required during the construction season (May November)Other duties as requiredPREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO LOCAL CANDIDATES
