Job Description

  • Perform inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of truck, trailer combinations and various off road equipment including compaction equipment, dozers, excavators, graders, loaders and paving equipment
  • Diagnosing electrical, hydraulic and mechanical troubles
  • Perform preventative, planned and unplanned maintenance, repair, overhaul, trouble shoot and test mechanical and electronic equipment according to company standards
  • Complete maintenance records and documentations as required
  • Work in a shop setting when not in the field
  • Work from a service truck in the field as required with possible overnight stays
  • Participate as a vital team member, and contribute towards the success of the organization, which may involve participation in other areas of technical and field support, as required.
  • Perform duties in a safe, timely and cost-efficient manner
  • Other duties as required
The successful applicant MUST HAVE
  • Alberta HET certification or minimum 3rd year apprentice or out of province HET certification with Interprovincial Red Seal
  • Your own tools
  • Basic welding knowledge and skills (welding certification is an asset)
  • Minimum Class 5 license with clean abstract (valid Class 1 License is an asset)
  • Licensed CVIP certification is an asset
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to multitask and shift priorities as required
  • Requires a flexible work schedule including overtime and weekend work during the construction season (May - November)
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be in good physical shape in order to work in physically demanding conditions
