This position uses experience, knowledge and data to provide insightful analysis and guidance to management and operational staff. The Decision Support Analyst will identify information needs, design queries and data extractions, and employ decision support tools to complete the analyses. The Decision Support Analyst will prepare, analyze, and present results for strategic decision-making and operational support. The position works collaboratively with technical, financial, and patient services counterparts to identify information gaps and address data inaccuracies.What must you have
  • Undergraduate degree in a Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Statistics, Informatics, Business Management or related fields as a minimum requirement.
  • Minimum three (3) years direct analytical experience in health, business, research or related industries
  • Experience with SQL Scripting and Enterprise Business Intelligence Systems
  • Experience with database design is desirable
  • Experience in a health care decision support environment and a solid understanding of the health care system
  • Knowledge of CIHI datasets (DAD, NACRS, CCRS, NRS, OMHRS, HCRS, MIS) is desirable
  • Knowledge of interRAI suite of tools and experience with the Home and Community Care’s Client Health and Related Information System (CHRIS) is desirable
  • Intermediate to Advanced capability in SQL scripting
  • Experienced in the use of one or more enterprise reporting tools i.e. Power BI or Tableau
  • Demonstrated capacity for problem solving, analysis, and making sound recommendations
  • Exceptional technical skills related to working with large data sets
  • Highly skilled in the use of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Strong willingness and ability to learn new skills and technologies
  • Experience with Extract Transform Load (ETL) development and configuration is desirable
  • Design and development of OLAP cubes is desirable
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to display and explain complex analyses in an easily understood manner geared to the target audience
  • Valid Driver’s License and access to a reliable motor vehicle with appropriate business class liability insurance as travel throughout Erie St. Clair is required
