If you’re interested in driving excellence in care and service delivery, and seeking an unparalleled opportunity to lead and learn, partner and connect, care and be cared for, this is your home.What will you doReporting to the Director of Patient Services, Quality and Risk, Chief Privacy Officer, the Records Management and Privacy Specialist is responsible to provide operational support and assistance with all aspects of Records Management and Privacy. This role is responsible for supporting Records Management and privacy practices in accordance with organizational requirements, best practices, legislative and regulatory requirements for promoting data quality. The Records Management and Privacy Specialist will provide consultative services to all staff and selected external stakeholders for Records Management and privacy, including change initiatives, process improvement proposals, efficiency developments, data quality, etc. In addition, the position represents the ESC HCCSS both internally and externally on committees, working groups and projects as needed.What must you have
  • Certified in Health Information Management – CHIM and member in good standing with the Canadian Health Information Management Association - CHIMA
  • Certification as a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) or in progress of obtaining certification.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Canadian Institute for Health Information Coding and Abstracting Standards and systems including ICD 9.
  • Knowledge of records management, principles, practices and techniques in keeping with various legislative acts e.g. PHIPA, FIPPA, HCC and SDA
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to use computerized applications and databases
  • Effective leadership, problem solving, conflict resolution and project management skills
  • Knowledge of all applicable Legislative Acts, Standards and Ministry requirements
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of privacy/security requirements, standards and best practice.
